Aspiring blogger taking his first small steps so be kind…

49yrs young Englishman living in Toronto, Canada for last 6 years following a 10 year stint in Bermuda. Enjoying life in the cold with my wife Lina and my step children Luca (14) and Olivia (12).

I started my first IT job as a trainee computer operator on huge mainframes at 19 yrs old, and I’ve never looked back moving from role to role across all sorts of industries including manufacturing, banking, granary, software development, IT manufacturer, financial services, professional services, and ISP. The companies I have worked from range in size from 40 people to 100,000+ employees both domestically and globally.

I’ve held many roles over the years from operator, DBA, development, consulting, analyst, foot soldier, manager, data center manager, and pre-sales.

I have procrastinated about blogging for some time now, and so here we go.

I love to play squash, golf, cook, spend time with my family, and have many varied interests including music, movies, food, nature, DIY, and fishing.
